About Participation
Who can attend?
Do I need to have a bank account or formal employment to attend?
No. These workshops are specifically designed for people who work informally and manage cash. You don't need a bank account, a payslip, or any formal financial documentation. All we ask is that you come with an openness to look at your own financial situation and try some new approaches.
What trades or occupations are these workshops designed for?
We designed the content with builders, painters, plumbers, electricians, seamstresses, tailors, freight drivers, and delivery workers in mind. That said, anyone who earns cash income without a formal payslip and wants to organize their finances is welcome. The core challenge — irregular income, cash management, planning for slow periods — is shared across many types of informal work.
Is there a minimum education level required?
No. The workshops are designed to be accessible regardless of formal education background. We use plain language, real-life examples, and visual tools. The only requirement is the ability to add and subtract — and even then, we work through the numbers together.
Can I attend if I'm already trying to manage my money in some way?
Absolutely — and you'll likely find the sessions more productive because of it. We build on what already works. If you have a system you've been using, we'll look at it together and think about how to strengthen or simplify it. We never dismiss what participants are already doing.
About the Sessions
How the workshops work
How long is each session?
Each session runs approximately 90 minutes. We keep the format active — there's no long lecture. We work through exercises, discuss real situations, and leave time for individual questions. The goal is that every participant leaves each session with something concrete they built or practiced.
Do I need to attend all four sessions?
Each session builds on the previous one, so attending all four gives you the most complete experience. That said, we understand that work schedules can be unpredictable. If you miss a session, we'll provide a summary of what was covered and help you catch up in the following one. We work with your reality, not against it.
Do I need to bring anything?
We provide all worksheets and materials. It helps to bring a rough idea of your typical weekly income and your most common expenses — but even if you don't have those numbers memorized, we'll work through them together. If you have a notebook you already use for work notes, bring it. If you prefer to use your phone, bring that.
Are the sessions taught in a group or individually?
Sessions run in small groups. The group format is intentional — hearing how others in similar trades handle the same challenges is often as valuable as the content itself. At the same time, the small group size means there's time for individual attention and for adapting exercises to each participant's specific situation.
About the Content
What you'll actually learn
Will I be taught to use specific apps or software?
No specific app is required or recommended. We present a range of options — paper notebooks, simple phone notes, basic free apps — and help each participant choose what fits their habits. The goal is a system you'll actually use, not one that looks impressive but gets abandoned after a week.
Is this about investing or growing money?
No. These workshops focus on the fundamentals: understanding what comes in, what goes out, and how to create a small safety net for slow periods. We don't cover investment products, financial instruments, or strategies for growing wealth. The focus is entirely on organizing and stabilizing the income you already have.
Will the workshop tell me to formalize my work situation?
No. We don't judge informality or suggest it needs to change. Our purpose is to help you organize the income you have, in the way you currently earn it. We don't offer legal or tax advice, and we don't push participants toward any particular formal or informal work arrangement.
What if my income changes a lot from week to week?
That's exactly the situation these workshops are built for. Variable income is the starting point, not a complication. We don't assume a fixed monthly salary — we work with the actual rhythm of how money arrives in trades like yours. The tools we introduce are specifically designed to function well when income is irregular.
